| “Collage City”is a very important theory of Colin Rowe and Fred Koetter that was put forward in their work Collage City . The aim is to extend the “Bricolage”views and methods from the fi eld of art into urban design and architecture. This article tries to analyze the background of the statement “city as a stage”and its neutral attitude towards history and modernization. At the end, based on the case of Frankfurt New Historical Museum Competition, it will discuss how to judge the building environment from a “Bricolage” view, in order to realize urban spatial transformation and contemporary urban renewal in historical context. |
