| This paper provides a panoramic view of Dutch professional architectural journals in the first decade after
WWII, looking at the reconstruction and development of important Dutch journals, such as Bouwkundig Weekblad ,
Forum , and Katholiek Bouwbiad . It examines the pluralistic approaches presented in the post-war Dutch architectural
journals – including the‘middle-of-the-road’attitude of J. P. Mieras; the experimental ideas of J. B. Bakema, J. H.
van den Broek, and A. E. Van Eyck; the traditionalism of J. Granpré Molière; and the interpretation of‘freedom’by
Bakema. This paper aims to present an in-depth study on the confrontation between different views in the post-war
Dutch architectural community. |
