| Renowned for its elitist culture, academic excellence and campus beauty, Princeton
University is not only the ideal place to pursue scholarship, but also represents an epitomized
way of life. Courses of study leading to the Ph.D degree are offered in the arts and
sciences, architecture, engineering and public affairs, of which many subjects boast the
highest academic rankings. Based on the author’s own experience of pursuing her Ph.D at
Princeton, this essay gives a detailed analysis of the characteristics and requirements of the
doctoral program in architectural history, including application, course work, financial support,
faculty-student relationship, language exams and dissertation. |
