| "Religion and Art are interrelated, the modern sacred art movement at the beginning of the 20th century impel the cohesion between modern art and sacred space to a unparalleled extent. In the 1940s Faurist artist Henri Matisse accomplished the decorative design of the Chapel of the Rosary (Chapelle du Rosaire de Vence), which achieved the prophase of practice to the consolidation of modern art and religious building. Based on the review of modern sacred art movement context and the design process of Chapel of the Rosary, the article would explored the relationship between concept and design, art and space, figure and field in the art piece of Henri Matisse and the religious art movement." |
