| A given space and time over a given area may impose a decisive impact on the evolution and inheritance of a culture, thanks to the historical ups and downs. Jinling, as the capital city of the Six Dynasties, de fined the formation of and the impact on Chinese landscape culture. This paper attempts to discuss the topic through four parts: Jinling and emerging Chinese landscape culture, nobles and landscape gardens, living amid landscape, and a poetic view of landscape. It reveals the unique contributions made by Jinling during the Six Dynasties to the Chinese landscape garden culture in the context of aesthetics, origin, form and propagation. |
