| This paper is Yiqiu Liu’s interview with Christian Kerez.The concept of “One” is embodied in all aspects of the interview: The architectural learning of Kerez started from the crucial design method to understand architecture as an entity under the influence of Analogue Architecture; In his current thinking, “One” is the most essential perceptions of space.The change of the building appearance is caused by definitions of space in order to reveal essence rather than the change of styles; In his working method from concept to practice, the concept of “One” is embodied in his consistent insistence on emotions and the process of rationalization; In his practice, especially the competition works in China, “One” is reflected in his integrated thinking of architecture and social problems, the comprehensive volume of the newly completed competition work- CAA Liangzhu Campus is one great example for the concept. |
