      “基础设计”是赫伯特·克莱默(Herbert Kramel)教授于1984~1996年间在苏黎世联邦理工学院(ETH-Z) 建筑系发展的一套结构有序、高度综合的建筑设计基础教学法,并通过与东南大学之间的《南京交流》(1986-2011) 计划显著地影响了中国的若干所建筑院校。本文由“基础设计”教案的沿革开始,逐步深入技术性层面,以实例说明 设计练习的设置,体现“装配部件”操作在结构化教学中的应用,最后指出“基础设计”对于当下建筑教育的意义。

      Basic Design, a structured and highly integrated teaching model that developed by Professor Herbert Kramel at the Department of Architecture of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ) between 1984 and 1996, was introduced to China through the Nanjing Exchange Program (1986-2011) with Southeast University and influenced several architectural schools thereafter. This paper begins with the evolution of the program of Basic Design and goes into the technical level step by step by illustrating the sequence of design exercises with examples and the application of the “kit-of-parts” operation in structured teaching, and finally points out the significance of Basic Design for the present architectural education.
