| This paper applies the STS method introduced by Bruno Latour on analysing the creation and spread of German standards. After examining the history of specific standards on replaceable machine components, construction modules, building energy consumption as well as building digitalisation from both technological and social institutional perspectives, the author reflects on the recent developments of standards under a three-fold evaluating framework deriving from the indications of the German word NORM. |
