| 以“功能”一词的使用而不是词义为线索，梳理其自1930年代进入中国建筑语境到1950年代，从传播现代主义建筑思想与现代观念的一个重要概念，到脱离现代建筑语境，成为一个与中国建筑观念讨论密切相关的概念的演变过程，揭示“功能”的实用性属性，使其在对传统建筑、形式主义和复古主义的批判性思考中发挥重要作用，并通过比较，试图对其局限进行一定的反思。 |

| Based on the clue of the use of“function”rather than the meaning of the word, this paper reviews the transformation of the concept from 1930s to 1950s.“Function”as an important concept of disseminating modernist architectural ideas and modern concepts, gradually disappeared from the modern architectural context, and closely related to the discussion of Chinese architectural concepts. Revealing the utilitarian attributes of“function”, which played an important role in the critical thinking of traditional architecture, formalism and Retro-classicism, and try to reflect on their limitations in comparison. |
