| By reviewing the history of land reclamation in the Netherlands, this article analyzes the evolution of
Dutch urban housing development from densification to de-densification. The redevelopment of the harbor areas
in major cities facilitated the rehabilitation of the inner cities. Housing projects around Amsterdam’s harbor became test fields for density, typology, financing models, public participation etc. |
