| This article reviews the career of Professor ZENG Zhaofen，a famous architectural critic and journal
editor，during the years of open-door policy. While editing the journal World Architecture and introducing the
international trends，ZENG resolutely pushed forward the creation of Chinese architecture especially the “Lingnan
School” of Southern China. He is indeed a pioneer of critical architecture in China. |
