| 陈植，20 世纪中国著名建筑师，建筑教育家。他是现代中国第一代职业建筑师的杰出代表，一位现代建筑
与城市建设的开拓者和引路人，也是现代建筑教育在中国成长发展的重要推动者之一。在陈植先生诞辰120 周年
之际，本文基于前人的回忆和作者近期的研究，对陈植先生建筑人生的各个阶段展开回顾，以呈现这位前辈的
成长历程、事业成就与历史影响，并通过一位历史人物，再来回溯20 世纪中国建筑的职业形成、学科建立以及现
代建筑探索的历史进程及其现代性特征，认识与思考前人为我们留下的实践经验与思想遗产。 |
| 英文摘要: |
| CHEN Zhi (Benjamin Chih CHEN) was a well known architect and architectural educator of the 20th century in
China. As one of the most important representatives among the architects of the first generation CHEN Zhi's significant
contributions were not only found in a number of his successful practical works but also in his efforts in promoting the
modern professional position and education in China. In the occasion of 120th anniversary of his birth, this paper, based
on the memorial articles, related publications and the authors' recent research, will trace back CHEN’s architectural life
of four different periods, in order to present his growing path, professional achievements and historical influences.
Through a review of this professional's lifelong career, the paper also intends to have a retrospect on the process of the
emerging of the professionals, the forming of the discipline, the searching for modern, and its own modernity in 20th
Century Chinese architecture, thinking of the experiences and thoughts left from the former generations. |
