| 经过改革开放后城市快速扩张时期，上海已逐步进入存量更新的城市建设阶段。在全球城市竞争深化、中国社会发展进入新阶段的背景下，社会各界更多地关注如何提升城市生活品质、切实改善人民日常生活体验等本质问题。聚焦公共性与日常性的公共空间建设也成为上海城市空间转型的路径之一。近几年上海以“全球卓越城市”为愿景，在城市发展思维、空间转型、治理模式等领域进行了有益的探索与尝试。一批典型项目体现了上海城市在公共性、日常性公共空间建设方面思考与实践的新维度。 |

| Shanghai entered the stock urbanization gradually after a period of fast urban growth following the Reform and Opening up. All walks of life are more focused on the fundamental concerns of how to enhance the quality of urban life and the people’s everyday experience in light of the intensifying rivalry of global cities and the new stage of China’s social development. One of the paths Shanghai’s urban spatial transformation has taken is the creation of public space with a focus on publicness and everydayness. Shanghai has undertaken helpful investigations and attempts in the areas of urban development thinking，spatial transformation，and governance style in recent years with the aim of “Global City of Excellence.” A number of typical projects reflect the new dimension of thinking and practice in the public space construction in Shanghai. |
