| This article explores the current trends of the architectural scene in France, focusing on its key characteristics such as user and programcentric design, flexibility of functions, structural and material expressiveness. Except from the practical experience from certain agencies, the theoretical framework and grounding in an architectural historic context has influence on these practices. Further, the recurrent exchange and collaboration from theircounterparts in other European countries play a significant role. The original article was published in d’a magazine,issue No. 286, December 2020, titled ‘Simple, c’est plus’ （Simple， is more）. It also corresponds to the Frenchthemed issues of German architecture magazines Baumeister and ARCH+ published in 2019 and 2020 respectively. |
