| By introducing specific cases，this paper reviews the thinking of Swedish architect Erik Gunnar Asplund from the beginning of the 20th century on the integrity of architectural environment. An unbuilt work，that is，the international competition schematic design of the Royal Chancellery in Stockholm，was fully introduced based on three aspects，i.e.，the continuation of context，harmonious and inclusive place，and symbiotically evolutionary city. This paper investigated his design exploration based on theories of urban weaving. Through expanding and transforming the traditional urban texture，he created an urban space system that is jointly defined by old and new buildings，which can enrich the historical connotation of architecture and reproduce spatial memories of the city. His design philosophy fully reflected a transformation from abstract spaces to specific places，and perfectly interpreted the eternity of architecture symbiosis with the city. |
