| Slovenia’s historical development and geographical position are clearly unique. In the context of a com-
plex and unique period，Slovenian architect Edvard Ravnikar is eclectic in his architectural process，achieving a strange balance in the context of his work through a unique “eclectic” strategy. This paper traces the realistic environment and creation origin of Ravnikar’s architectural practice. Based on the analysis of his representative design works，this paper explores how he transformed the original reference “materials” through the “eclectic” strategy of “appropriation” and “hybrid”，which was reflected in architectural practice. Finally，it developed a modernism with obvious local characteristics. |
