Dietmar Eberle’s approach to foundational architectural design teaching is grounded in the regional traditions of Vorarlberger Bauschule. He builds upon and further refines ETH Zurich’s systematic teaching methods, emphasizing fundamental value judgments and practical design exercises. Eberle critically reassesses the mechanistic views of function and space in modernism, advocating for open buildings and sustainable development achieved with maximum efficiency and economic feasibility, aiming at fostering social and cultural contributions. Through the interaction between practice and teaching, Eberle implements this design methodology, asserting that the future of the architectural discipline relies on clearly defined educational objectives and core values. |
