Focusing on the core dilemma in the transmission of Tibetan blockhouse building techniques—the difficulty of capturing tacit knowledge and the neglect of craftsmen's bodily experience—this study introduces embodied cognition theory to transcend the paradigmatic limitations of the traditional 'object-body' dualism. It constructs a dynamic interaction model of 'Bodily Experience–Tool Medium–Material Dialogue–Spatial Perception' to systematically analyze the complete mechanism through which the tacit knowledge of Plateau craftsmen is generated, transmitted, and materialized via bodily practice. The study finds that: (1) Through long-term practice, Plateau craftsmen internalize unique bodily experiences, thereby achieving both biological adaptation to materials and the embodied encoding of technical logic. (2) The morphology of tools and their logic of use not only serve practical functions but also act as cultural media, enabling the intergenerational transmission of bodily memory and the materialization of local wisdom. (3) Through multi-sensory interaction with craftsmen, materials become active dialogic partners, with their selection and processing embodying profound ecological wisdom and cultural codes. (4) The spatial form of the blockhouse is the materialization of bodily practice—where the human-body scale system defines functional moduli, the vertical sequence maps cultural order, and the door and window system integrates environmental adaptation with symbols of belief. The proposed analytical framework of embodied cognition not only provides an effective methodology for capturing and understanding the tacit knowledge within intangible cultural heritage but also offers significant interdisciplinary theoretical insights for the contemporary reproduction of local knowledge and for ecological architectural design.
