| ‘After the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, the affected buildings carry ‘negative memories’ in the form of earthquake remnants. This paper summarises the two design strategies of functional regeneration and image expression of earthquake-damaged buildings through field research, focusing on the activation of spatial value through functional replacement and the construction of a temporal narrative dimension, with a view to providing innovative inspirations for the preservation and renewal of post-disaster buildings. |
