      在历史上,德意志制造联盟及其所代表的早期现代建筑运动处在世纪之交的转型期。这一组织的早期历史上承 19世纪第一批思考现代性变革的先驱,下启20世纪二三十年代现代主义风格的定型,因而处于现代语汇开始建立、 形式探索错综复杂、思想冲突最为激化的时期。作为当时“文化批评”运动的一部分,制造联盟抓住了新兴公共媒体广 泛传播理论和文化的机会,建立出版社、博物馆等机构,通过大量的展览、出版物、演讲和论坛等途径来扩大自身的 话语影响力。本文从公共媒体的视角出发,通过对制造联盟的组织架构、人员招纳、传媒活动及其文本生产的分析, 勾勒出20世纪初德国早期现代建筑文化的历史图景,认可制造联盟作为一个传媒机构在理论上远超于实践的历史贡 献。同时,本文也质疑了现代建筑史中普遍对其早期活动的简单化、片面化理解,指出了媒体研究对于现当代建筑文 化研究的重要意义。
英文摘要:
      Representing early modern architectural movements at the turn of 20th century, the German Werkbund is caught in a transitional period between the first reflections on modernity in late 19th century and the establishment of a consistent modernist style in the 1920s—1930s. Its early history saw the burgeoning emergence of modern discourse, the disoriented exploration in new forms and the intense grappling between conflicting parties. As part of the “Cultural Criticism” movement, the Werkbund seized the emerging media boost to popularize its propositions and enhance its discursive influence through exhibitions, publications, lectures, forums and the establishment of institutions for publicity. From the scope of public media, this essay analyzes the organization, recruitment, activities and theory production of the Werkbund to illustrate the historical scenario of early German modern architectural culture in the early 20th century. It recognizes the Werkbund as an institution for publicity with historical contributions in theory far outweighing that in practice, challenges the over-simplifi ed, one-sided image of the Werkbund in major modern history works, and indicates the significance of media studies in researching modern and contemporary architectural culture.
