      城市史学在 20 世纪发展迅速,其背后是将城市与文明相连的巨大推力。经历近代与世界大战,在全球 格局的变动之下,我们对城市的定位,从一种特定的社会状态,提升到了城市代表人类文明的高度。然而,城 市是否真能代表文明?本文将回顾欧、美、中、日近现代城市史发展中观念演变的脉络,在今日重新思考这一 问题。
英文摘要:
      Urban historiography has developed rapidly in the 20 th century,and behind it is a tremendous drive to connect city to civilization. Through modern times and world wars,and under the shifting global landscape,we have elevated the position of city from a specific social state to one that represents human civilization. However, does city really represent civilization? This paper reviews the conceptual evolution of the urban history field in Eu- rope,the United States,China and Japan,and rethinks this issue.
